Some Slide Guitar Licks
I was tuned to E-A-D-G#-B-E. It's standard tuning except for the 3rd string, which is tuned-up 1-half-step (that's 1-fret) higher. This is a quick way to get at least the top 3 strings to open E pitches when using the same guitar for slide and regular playing. The bottom three strings stay the same so you can't do the Elmore James moves but you can get quite a few of the Duane Allman moves this way without having to re-tune your entire guitar. Plus, the dominant 7th chord is right there when you slide into a straight-line across the first 4 strings. Cool!Ā
At some point I'll add a bunch of slide guitar instruction inside the Video Vault. For now steal any licks youĀ wantĀ from this little jam.Ā
