In short, Albert King leads to Stevie Ray Vaughan (even though he covered Hideaway at Montreux. Stevie never really sounded all that much like Freddie). 

B.B. King leads to Michael Bloomfield. (Riley B. was quite obviously Michael's biggest influence when you hear him play).

Freddie King leads to Eric Clapton. 

Three of my favorite guitar players are a direct line to three of my favorite guitar players of the rock era. It's supposed to work like that. Great guitar playing is supposed to go on.
