From Miles Davis' "Move" off of Birth Of The Cool

In college -- where all broke jazz musicians eventually get real jobs -- I had a professor who would have referred to this as....

"Killer Bop"

Or perhaps he would not have said that after all. Technically speaking, the master recording would have been made in the era of the "cool-jazz" sub-genre. Cool-jazz was post "killer bop," but he once did refer to Bebop just not as "Bop," but -- in fact -- as "killer bop." Killer bop is a poor career "Move" but leads to some good college stories when one has been through the halls of academia. Bop.  You know what's closely related to jazz?....

Jazz-Fusion....

That may quickly lead to....

Jazz Odyssey. "We are not about to do a free-form jazz exploration in front of a festival crowd."  ... Or are we?
